Last week, we successfully hosted an online conference titled “An International Perspective of Practice-Based Education in Healthcare”.
The online conference, which saw 64 attendees from 13 different locations join throughout, featured eight keynote presentations from a variety of industry experts from around the world, including Australia and the USA, as well as our own university. The primary focus on this conference was to delve into the multifaceted realm of practice-based learning, with key elements being explored, including the many innovative approaches to practice-based learning, how many practice hours are needed to create competence; the importance of collegiality in practice-based learning; how person-centred caring attributes are developed in practice; how work integrated leaning and virtual reality contributes to communities of practice; and different strategies needed to build a resilient nursing workforce.
