About the MSc Sport and Exercise Nutrition

The online MSc Sport and Exercise Nutrition examines the scientific underpinnings of evidence-based sport and exercise nutrition guidelines and advice at a level that is appropriate for aspiring sport and exercise nutrition practitioners working with both athletes and the general population.
This course will give you an in-depth understanding of nutrition, the biochemical and physiological processes that occur in cells and tissues and the way those processes are integrated throughout the body.
Programme Specification

An interactive learning experience

Delivered entirely online by experts in their respective fields, the programme can be accessed by any student with a computer and access to the internet. You will join tutor groups of 15-20 other students and use a discussion forum to interact with the tutor and rest of the group.

Entry Profile

Typically, applicants for the MSc Sport and Exercise Nutrition will:

  • Possess a good first degree (i.e. a minimum of a 2.1) in a related subject (in dietetics, sports science, physiotherapy or similar subjects on a case by case basis), awarded by a UK university or overseas equivalent, or be a registered healthcare professional working in a setting where they can apply learning to practice.
  • Provide evidence in a personal statement as to how they can apply learning to a practical setting.
  • Be involved in a setting where they can reflect on practice (e.g. – workplace, voluntary work).
  • Have the ability to communicate their ideas effectively. Basic IT skills (e.g., word-processing, email and Internet) will also be expected.
