About this course

This six-month, part-time course combines both theoretical and professional skills training within the discipline of Sport Management. Upon completion of the course, you will be well-placed to face the growing number of issues facing the sports sector, particularly in the areas of strategic sport management, sport governance, marketing and media communications and the use of sport technologies.
Topics covered include:
  1. Sport marketing & development delivered over 6 weeks
  2. Sport innovation and technology delivered over 6 weeks
  3. Sport strategy and management delivered over 5 weeks
  4. Facility and event management delivered over 6 weeks

Course Delivery

Designed to fit around full-time work commitments, the course is delivered weekly in one 2 hours evening session over a six-month period.

This unique programme has been designed in collaboration with the Gibraltar Sports and Leisure Association (GSLA) and our Sports Key Advisory Group. Through a mix of practical and class-based study, the aims are to:

  1. Equip you with the skills necessary to carry out effective and critical reviews of sport management and encourage independent learning and enquiry.
  2. Provide you with the professional skills required to succeed as managers and leaders in the international sports sector.
  3. Encourage you to develop a critical awareness of the broad implications of managerial decisions and create an environment in which students can relate theory to practice, solve problems.
