The University is accredited by the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Certification Service. This means that we provide recognised independent continuous professional development accreditation compatible with global CPD principles.
Delegates who participate in CPD activities are at the advantage of ensuring that their academic and practical qualifications do not become outdated: allowing individuals to continually ‘upskill’ or ‘re-skill’ themselves, regardless of occupation, age or educational level. Our course have CPD certification and therefore carry CPD points.

This workshop will cover the following:
1 – Challenges business leaders to think about creating the right environment for sustainable change. They are engaged in change management and how it links to key business improvement tools, so they can fully support their staff.
This element will focus why we tend to resist change and are content with the way things are. Introducing change management as a process and the role of leaders within this as well as introducing delegates to some key tried and tested tools and techniques that can help them create the right environment for change and how to effectively manage change
2 – Engages participants to begin to understand the foundation for improvement and change management; their role and how this links to business improvement.
This element will explore the role of an operational manager or leader and how this closely links to business improvement, gaining clarity on why business improvement is key to longer term business success. Managing today for tomorrow is not enough and business leaders need to be able to step back and focus on the future state of their business.
3– Uses active/live learning to understand how to identify non-value adding activities, improve flow and identify opportunities for improvement in their processes.
This element introduces the delegates to Lean Principles and the concepts of Value, Flow and Quality within a business, the delegates will participate in an interactive simulation exercise which imitates a business operation and gives the participant the opportunity to make continuous improvements applying some of the lean principles
4 – Explores how change can be effectively implemented within your company using tried and tested change model. Looks at how to effectively communicate change and engage the workforce. You will also assess the readiness of your company for sustainable change.
Following on from element 1 we now take a closer look at implementation within each business and how best to mange this as part of the overall change management process.
5 – Develops next steps and plans with optional follow up on-site support to implement and sustain change.
This final element will focus on identifying opportunities and next steps and starting to structure these into coherent action plans that the delegates can take back into their work places and start to implement.*
* There is an opportunity to provide further on site support if required on a one to one basis with individual business should they require this to enable them to make effective progress through their implementation phase.
This course is for those interested in developing their skills or enhancing existing knowledge in these areas.
The fee for this workshop for academic year 2019/2020 is £220. The fee includes registration and tuition as well as lunch at the stunning University restaurant, Bistro Point.
