Career-ready graduates

The following are examples of just two of our graduates who are now in full-time employment thanks to their Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) internships:

“During my first year of my BBA (Hons) I had the opportunity to do a placement with PwC Gibraltar, which gave me an early exposure to the financial industry and the Gibraltarian business environment. As well as having the opportunity to learn the job on a practical level very early on, I had the opportunity to do summer internships and continue to experience other departments until I finally discovered Audit, which is the area I like the most and feel most comfortable in. I am now employed full time at PwC Gibraltar and am pursuing the ACCA qualification.”

Jose Miguel Herrera RivasBBA (Hons) Valedictorian | PwC Gibraltar employee

“The work placement I undertook throughout the BBA (Hons) was fully applicable to the course in all aspects, whilst it also helped me get an understanding of the local professional workplace environments. I undertook my placement at BetVictor, a locally based, international iGaming company.

Needless to say how useful the placement was, so much so that upon finishing the placement they offered me full time employment!”

Effective management is essential for the success of all private, not-for-profit and public organisations no matter where in the world they are located. A pre-requisite for effective management is an understanding of the origins of management and its main theoretical perspectives; how to plan and make decisions, organise, lead and control, how to motivate staff, and manage change in different business environments.

This module provides students with a general introduction to organisations and the functions of management. Topic areas will address issues related to organisations, management, and society. The module will cover the core management functions of leading, planning, controlling and organising.

Management Information Systems
