English Language Requirements
The University of Gibraltar offers international students a range of
English language requirements for international students
If you need a visa for undergraduate or postgraduate study, you must show evidence that your English Language skills are at an overall IELTS test result of 6.5, including a minimum of 6.0 in all sub-tests. C1 level on the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference).
This can be demonstrated by obtaining any of the following qualifications for direct entry on to undergraduate, postgraduate or research qualifications:

*Only results obtained within the last two years will be considered as proof of English Language proficiency.
International applicants’ English language skills may be further assessed by face-to-face interview.
In addition to English language, all applicants will need to meet programme-specific entry requirements relating to subjects, grades and/or work experience.
English language requirements for students from Europe
If you’re from a country within the European Economic Area (EEA), even if it’s a majority English-speaking country, we may still need you to demonstrate your proficiency in the English language. We will let you know about this during the application process.

If you do not meet our entry requirements (IELTS 6.5), you can still apply as we will consider your application on the condition that you attend our Pre-sessional English courses.
