The University of Gibraltar invites expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the operation of the University’s restaurant and cafeteria.

The University will open in September 2015. It has a cafeteria for students, staff and visitors to the University as well as a restaurant which will be open to the public. The restaurant is at a unique location and enjoys unrivalled views.

Applications can be made to operate the restaurant or cafeteria or both.

The University proposes to enter into a joint venture agreement and will grant the successful person or persons a licence on terms to be agreed on the following basis:

  • The restaurant and cafeteria will be owned by the University;
  • The restaurant will be operated to a high standard and in a way which supports the University’s School of Hospitality in the training of students;
  • The University will equip the kitchens and furnish the restaurant and cafeteria;
  • All operational costs are to be met by the operator/s;
  • A licence fee will be payable by the operator/s;
  • An additional payment will be made by the operator/s to the University based on sales and/or profits.

All applications are to include full details of the applicant’s qualifications and experience, proposed operational model, outline business plan as well as financial proposals.
