The University of Gibraltar is seeking to recruit University lecturers, tutors and research supervisors. It is calling for expressions of interest from individuals who have i) professional experience and ii) either qualifications or experience of teaching in the following areas:

Faculty of Business

  • Business and Management
  • Accounting
  • Finance
  • Banking
  • Law
  • Gibraltar Taxation

Faculty of Health Studies and Sports Science

  • Healthcare Management
  • Sports Science

Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality

  • Tourism Studies
  • Hospitality and Catering

Institute of Life and Earth Sciences

  • Marine Biology
  • Ecology and Biodiversity
  • Environmental Sciences, including Conservation, Management and Education

Institute for Gibraltar and Mediterranean Studies

  • Mediterranean and Post-Colonial Studies
  • Language and Culture
  • Teaching and pedagogy in Gibraltar

Institute of Professional Development and Continuing Education

  • AAT – levels 2, 3 & 4
  • CILEX

Language Centre

  • Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL)
  • Teaching English as a Professional Language (TEPL)

The University is looking for applicants who would be interested in part-time teaching appointments. A number of full-time posts are likely to become available in 2016-2017.

Ideally candidates should have at least five years’ experience of teaching or tutoring in the above areas. Candidates who have, or are enrolled in a Postgraduate Certificate of Higher Education, Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice or are Fellows of the Higher Education Academy would be given preference.

Appointees may have responsibility for recruitment, teaching, tutoring, record keeping and/or assessment. They will be reporting to the relevant Head of Department and follow the guidelines established by Academic Board that governs academic quality and standards at the University.

The University welcomes submissions from applicants who have higher degrees (Masters, PhD) and have the experience (or are willing to be trained) to act as supervisors for research students.
