The Ceremony

On the 28th September 2016 the University of Gibraltar installed its inaugural Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor.  Lord Luce took up responsibilities as Chancellor, and Professor Daniella Tilbury was formally installed as Vice-Chancellor, of the University of Gibraltar. The installation ceremony was a celebration of the University’s first twelve months, highlighting its achievements which included the enrolment of over 250 students in its first year, as well as important work on developing its international ambitions for the coming years. The ceremony featured several musical performances from Ana Maria Ghio, Robert Randall and the Royal Gibraltar Regiment Band.

Close to 200 guests attended the ceremony which took place at our Europa Point Campus Atrium. Guests included His Excellency Lieutenant General Sir Edward Davis, Governor of Gibraltar,  the Hon Fabian Picardo QC, Chief Minister of Gibraltar, other Government Ministers and elected members of Parliament, the Mayor, Adolfo Canepa, the University’s Board of Governors, visiting members of the University’s Academic Board, University researchers, staff, students and friends of the University.
