Date of Installation: Saturday 4th December 2021.
Where will the ceremony take place?
The Installation will take place in the University of Gibraltar’s Europa Point Campus.
How long will the ceremony last?
The ceremony is scheduled to take place from 10.00 to 11.30.
Please allow around two hours; the ceremony is scheduled to last around one and half hours, after which guests will be invited to a reception at the Bistro Point restaurant.
What is the dress code?
Dress code for the Installation is lounge suit/ formal dress.
Should I wear academic dress?

Please see below schedule to give you an idea of the running of the days events:
Time (approx.) | Activity | Description |
10.00 – 10.10 | Arrival on campus. | Guests will be asked to sign-in and check their coats. |
10.10 – 10.30 | Gowning of academics and guests take their seats. | Academics will be guided to the Conference Hall for gowning, while our ushers will guide guests to their seats. |
10.30 – 11.30 | Installation ceremony. | The ceremony will run through the following steps: an academic procession; welcoming speeches; installation of the Chancellor; installation of the Vice-Chancellor; closing of the ceremony. |
11.30 – 12.30 | Reception | Guests will be guided to Bistro Point restaurant for a reception. |
Where will I park?
Please be aware that parking at our Europa Point Campus is limited, therefore, please allow a good amount of time to arrive in case you need to make alternative parking arrangements nearby.
Europa Point is served from the centre of town by regular buses. Where possible, we encourage the use of public transport when visiting us. For more information, go to: http://www.gibraltarbuscompany.gi
What if I cannot attend the ceremony?
Attendee numbers are limited, however we will be livestreaming the event on this page on Saturday 4th December 2021.
