Our students and visitors can now enjoy a new and bespoke social, collaborative space thanks to a generous donation from The Kishin Alwani Foundation. Designed to enhance the student experience, the new Kishin Alwani Foundation Student Common Room was opened by Mr Alwani at an official launch event on the 8th November.
The space has an informal feel and features soft-seating, areas for socialising and group study and a prominent mural by local artist Paul Cosquieri. On behalf of the Kishin Alwani Foundation, Mr Alwani said: “We are delighted to make this contribution to Gibraltar’s new University. We hope the Common Room will benefit many students in the years ahead and become one of the preferred meeting venues.”
The University is extremely grateful to Mr Alwani, and to the Kishin Alwani Foundation, for this generous contribution as it represents an investment in the student experience. Christian Camilleri, the University’s International and Student Experience Manager said, “Our students are at the heart of everything we do, and we believe that a crucial part of demonstrating this is making sure all our students have a place where they can relax and socialise with each other.”
As the University grows and welcomes more students and guests to its Europa Point Campus, bespoke student social spaces like this will be used to facilitate the building of connections across the student body and locally based alumni.
