On 28th February, we hosted an engaging Community Lecture by Dr James Viñales, Head of School at our University, titled “Nurse education, the last 20 years and beyond”
Dr Viñales provided a thorough overview of the significant transformations in nursing practice, education, and research over the past few decades, drawing from his extensive experience across England, Gibraltar, and Australia. He highlighted how these changes have profoundly impacted care delivery and patient outcomes. The session explored the evolution of nursing education in Gibraltar over the last quarter-century and examined how the development of nursing roles will influence the future workforce and, consequently, future patient outcomes.
Dr Viñales concluded the talk by reflecting on the ongoing advancements in nursing that continue to shape the profession, offering valuable insights for both current and aspiring nurses.
