The University of Gibraltar has been welcomed into the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) as an Educational Affiliate Member. The ACU is dedicated to building a better world through higher education. It brings universities together from around the world with the aim to advance knowledge, promote understanding, broaden minds, and improve lives.

A spokesperson for the ACU said; “We warmly welcome University of Gibraltar to ACU as educational affiliate members – we are delighted that you are now members and are very much looking forward to working with you”.

Being part of the ACU brings the University of Gibraltar into a network of like-minded organisations whose aim is to build and forge sustainable, mutually beneficial international partnerships. ACU member universities share the Commonwealth values of democracy, freedom, peace, the rule of law, and opportunity for all. Thanks to a common language and many similarities in organisation and management, Commonwealth universities are able to network extensively and effectively through the ACU, sharing problems, solutions, and good practice in a variety of higher education environments.
