Dr Goyal qualified in medicine from Aberdeen Medical School, UK. He then received training in both medicine and psychiatry, and completed a PhD in neurosciences. He is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians and a Member of the British Association of Neuropsychiatry.
Academically, Dr Goyal was a Principal Investigator at the University for Manchester for 5 years, where he led three clinical studies, was a PhD supervisor and Masters supervisor. He moved to General Internal Medicine at Oxford University Hospital where he also lectured on the Oxford University Medical School undergraduate course. Dr Goyal is currently a Consultant in Internal Medicine in Lorn and Islands Hospital in Scotland. His research interests are focused on Health Systems with a current focus on clinical care in COVID-19.
