Biography

Sigurd’s background: before joining the Ambulance Service was in the maritime field as deep-sea diver. Since 2007 Sigurd has worked in the prehospital setting, where he co-pioneered Paramedicine in Gibraltar.

Queen Mary University awarded Sigurd a MSc in Trauma Science, Kingston University a PGCE in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, and a BSc in Health Care. St Georges University awarded Sigurd a FdSc in Paramedicine.

Sigurd is an advanced life support provider, a fellow of the Higher Education Academy, is co-editor and manuscript reviewer for the Journal of Paramedic Practice, is an approved Internal Quality Assurer for Qualsafe Awards and the CEO for St John Ambulance, Gibraltar.

Sigurd has a keen interest in hyperbaric medicine.
