Parking Terms and Conditions

  • With effect from 1st August 2026, all University vehicle parking areas will be monitored and controlled by a private security company.
  • All students, staff, and other authorised users of the University parking areas must ensure that their valid parking permit is clearly displayed at all times whilst parked on University premises.
  • Failure to clearly display a valid permit may result in the vehicle – car or motorbike – being clamped and/ or towed away by the security company. In such cases, the University will have no authority or involvement in the matter, and all issues, charges, or disputes must be dealt with directly by the vehicle owner with the security company.
  • Students, and staff, and other authorised users are responsible for providing the correct vehicle registration number for the vehicle they will be using. If, for any reason, a different or non-registered vehicle is used, the user must notify the Reception Desk immediately on arrival, where a temporary day permit will be issued.
  • Some specific parking bays may be subject to additional conditions and if so they will be clearly marked. Failure to observe these conditions may also result in the vehicle being clamped or towed away.

Permit Validity and Maintenance
  • Availability: All parking spaces remain available on a first-come, first-served basis, without charge for students, staff, and other authorised users. The University does not guarantee parking availability to any student, staff member, or other authorised user.
  • Discretionary rights: The University reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, to limit, refuse, suspend or withdraw parking permits where operational requirements, safety considerations or parking capacity make this necessary.
  • Non-Transferability: Parking permits are issued to a specific individual and vehicle, may be subject to specific conditions, and must not be transferred, copied, shared or used by any other person without the University’s prior approval.
  • Revocable: The University may revoke a parking permit immediately where false information has been provided, a permit has been misused, or where, in the judgement of the University, these terms and conditions have been breached.

Data Protection and Liability
  • Privacy: Personal data collected in connection with parking permits will be processed by the University in accordance with applicable data protection legislation, including Gibraltar GDPR, and any applicable University Privacy Notice.
  • Risk: All vehicles, motorbikes and other property are brought onto and parked within University parking areas entirely at the owner’s and user’s risk. To the fullest extent permitted by Gibraltar law, the University accepts no responsibility or liability for any loss of, theft of, or damage to any vehicle, its contents, accessories or any other property, however caused. Nothing in these terms and conditions shall exclude or limit any liability which cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
  • Amendments: The University reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions and if so it will take reasonable steps to ensure users are informed of any relevant changes.
