The School of Education at the University of Gibraltar hosted a reception to thank local schools and teachers with whom they work in partnership to train and prepare its Postgraduate Certificate of Education students.

Minister John Cortes, in attendance, showed his appreciation for the schools and mentors, complimenting them on their dedication to the profession and their willingness to take an active part in forming high-quality future practitioners.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Catherine Bachleda welcomed the guests and offered her appreciation to the head teachers who had received the University’s students into their schools, and on behalf of Unigib thanked these Heads for fostering an environment in which teachers could put themselves forward to take on the role of school-based-mentor for the PGCE students. Professor Bachleda also praised the teachers who have been mentors, highlighting their invaluable contribution in helping to create the next generation of teachers.
