The University of Gibraltar is an approved learning provider for the MOD’s Enhanced Learning Credits Scheme (ELCAS). This promotes lifelong learning amongst members of the Armed Forces. The scheme provides financial support for pursuit of higher-level learning. This course is ELCAS approved, should you meet ELCAS eligibility criteria you may apply for subsidy.

The professional diploma level offered at the University consists of following units:
Level 2 Certificate in Accounting and the Level 3 Diploma in Accounting will be offered part-time (four hours per week over one Academic Year). Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting will be offered part-time four hours per week over two Academic Years (finishing December 2023).

The course will be offered on a part-time basis and will commence as from Monday 5th September 2022, subject to minimum numbers being met.
Sessions are scheduled to take place twice a week from 18:00 – 20:00 in one of our campuses.
Examinations are scheduled at 10:00am on campus.
Level 2 sessions are held on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Level 3 and Level 4 sessions are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
No specific qualifications are required nor working experience undertaken in an accounting role, although the latter would be of benefit. You need to be capable with numbers and have organisational skills. The University may ask you to undertake a diagnostic assessment to determine your level of English competency prior to enrolling in the course. Completion of Level 2, 3 and 4 sequentially is highly recommended.
Fees differ per level and they are directly payable to the University of Gibraltar. Please find below the fees for academic year 2022/2023.

AAT Registration fees
You must register with AAT separately. We encourage you to register as soon as you start the course. Registration membership fees are to be paid directly by you to the AAT, please refer to www.aat.org.uk. This one-off fee provides access to the qualification for its lifetime, typically four to five years. Membership must be secured in order to sit assessments and access study support resources via the AAT Lifelong Learning Portal:

Level 3 Diploma in Accounting– £225 (Deadline for registration 9th September 2022)
Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting– £240 (Deadline for registration 15th November 2022)
Course Manuals
Course textbooks are not provided. Students may wish to purchase course textbooks to support their learning, and these can be ordered directly from Osborne books.
For those currently studying AAT will be aware that there is a transition between qualifications AQ2016 to AQ2022
There will be no automatic transfer between AQ2016 and Q2022:
Due to the content changes with the qualifications and changes to the registration format, there will be no direct transfer between AQ2016 and Q2022.
If students wish to cease studying AQ2016 and finish studying a qualification on Q2022, they will need to register for the equivalent qualification, paying the one-off registration fee.
