The STCW Proficiency in Maritime Security Awareness course is set up to offer crew on board merchant ships, who are not assigned security duties, with the essential awareness needed. This course ensures that delegates will leave with the knowledge, understanding and proficiency requirements that are set out in the STCW code. This is mandatory training that must be done by all seafarers whose role requires them to comply with the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) code.
The ISPS Code:
  • Recognise security threats;
  • Maritime security definitions;
  • Security roles and responsibilities;
  • Company and ship security requirements;
  • Security threat levels;
  • Security measures and procedures.

Certification

Successful candidates will be awarded with the MCA approved STCW Proficiency in Maritime Security Awareness certificate, following a short online exam.
