English and Spanish for Specific and Business Purposes

Do you need to improve your confidence when using English or Spanish in work related situations; develop your pronunciation and fluency; understand your peers with more clarity, write with more confidence or enhance your sector specific vocabulary and grammar?

Our courses are designed for professionals wishing to develop their English or Spanish skills in a professional context. The modules focus on functional, real-life situations and tasks in an interactive, communicative environment, where learning outcomes are maximised. All our courses can be customised to suit your needs.

Furthermore, for those wishing to obtain certified proof of their level, the Language Centre is a Cambridge Assessment English approved provider for the Linguaskill test.

Sessions can include:

  • Expanding business vocabulary
  • English as the Lingua Franca and what this means for communication
  • Examining active listening
  • Speaking up in meetings, seeking clarification
  • Honing negotiation skills
  • Exploring phone calls and conference calls
  • Improving external email writing
  • Honing report writing
  • Improving presentation skills
  • Introduction to the English and Spanish sound systems and phonemic charts
  • Exploring connected speech

Entry profile

These courses are for organisations in the private and public sectors, business owners, leaders, managers, customer services practitioners and administrators. Typically, applicants will have at least a B1+ level, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
