At the core of the School of Health Sciences’ ethos is our mission to ‘guide and mentor individuals through their personal and professional development and journey, through education, training, and research throughout all of our programmes’.
Across our UK-aligned programmes, our fundamental purpose is to promote professional evidence-based practices with intellectual curiosity in the field.
We specialise in delivering a high quality, personal learning experience through our small-sized cohorts, teaching approaches in class and through our virtual learning platform and in our simulation suite.
The University lecturing team as well as specialist practitioners, ensure that our programmes are evidence-based and current.
Most of our programmes include placement opportunities, and our students spend time in different settings within Gibraltar’s Health Care environment. The placements are undertaken in the practice setting through the University’s close partnership with the Gibraltar Health Authority and other health care providers.

University of Gibraltar Nursing Students Conference 2026
The University of Gibraltar Nursing Conference 2026 marks the fourth annual student nursing conference, celebrating the achievements of our BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing students alongside contributions from colleagues in the Isle of Man, Scotland, and Jersey.
This engaging one-day conference will showcase a diverse range of projects from all three cohorts of the degree programme. Year 1 students will present public health posters, demonstrating their understanding of population health and health promotion. Year 2 students will present resources focused on long-term conditions, highlighting innovative approaches to enhancing patient care and support. Year 3 students will showcase service improvement initiatives, reflecting their ability to lead and contribute to positive change within healthcare settings. International colleagues will also share practice innovations relevant to their respective healthcare environments.
By positioning nursing students as drivers of transformation within healthcare, the conference aims to inspire and empower the next generation of practitioners to make a meaningful impact on patient care and service delivery. Through the dissemination of their work to peers, academics, and healthcare professionals, students will have the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of organisations such as the Gibraltar Health Authority, and most importantly, to enhance outcomes and experiences for service users.
