Aine Panter

My Role

I have quite a varied role in the University. I am a programme coordinator for the programmes that fall under the soon to be established Business School. My responsibilities include, amongst others, curriculum development (e.g. a bachelor of business) and review as well as, most importantly, ensuring that all aspects of the courses are run smoothly and that the students have the best overall experience. I also teach on relevant courses (e.g. AAT).

Amaia Fernandez
European and International Funding Officer

My Role

My role as the European and International Funding Officer consists in identifying funding opportunities and partnerships for the University. I support all departments and staff in bidding for external funding, mainly from the European Commission, proactively supporting collaborative research and academic development projects across the University.

I also provide comprehensive support in the preparation of bids and management of projects post award, both across the University and across the partnerships and networks with which we work.
In addition, I establish links with local, regional, national and international funding bodies, and liaise with my counterparts in other organisations and universities.

My Role

As the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Acting) of the University of Gibraltar and the Dean of Academic Quality and Professional Learning, I am responsible for providing leadership, development and implementation of the university’s academic and professional learning goals as outlined in the strategic plan. As part of my role I am also a member of the Academic Board.

My Role

I deal with the administrative side of the professional and short courses currently being offered at the University and with the development of new course offerings.

International and Student Experience Manager

My Role

As International and Student Experience Manager, I am responsible for the management and leadership of the Student Experience Office and ensuring an effective, efficient and high quality professional service which supports the University’s teaching activities and the student experience. On the International front, I am responsible for international student recruitment and leading on the University’s internationalisation strategy.

Daniella Tilbury

My Role

I am the chief executive officer responsible for the direction of the institution. I have a duty of care to students and to ensuring the University offers them internationally respected qualifications underpinned by excellent learning and research experiences. Bringing value to our local community, whilst promoting Gibraltar internationally, is also a key aspect of my role. Under the guidance of the Board, I am responsible for the effective operational and financial management of the University, the wellbeing of staff as well as for the overall reputation of the University.

Darren Fa
Director of Research and Partnerships

My Role

As the Director of Professional Development and Commercial Services I have differing responsibilities. One of the more important areas is to ensure that we offer courses that are professional qualifications relevant to Gibraltar’s professional community as well as courses which may be CPD focused or simply courses of attendance (which carry no qualifications) but are introductions to different areas or themes. Community outreach is also another big part of my role where the aim is to engage different sectors of the community to learn, enjoy and expand on cultural, health and sports themes. I am also responsible for the campus and events within the university but this is more team driven which is also very enjoyable.

David Revagliatte
Lead for Communications & Marketing

My Role

I lead all marketing and communication activities for the University. It’s my role to make sure we engage with our audiences at every level while raising our profile both here in Gibraltar and internationally. The role broadly covers all press coverage and outreach as well as the more tangible things like producing all of our marketing materials (print/online), advertising campaigns and ensuring our web presence is the best it can be, both on our website and social channels. I also work on delivering events like our high-profile Beacon Lectures, major launch communications and events and VIP briefings.

Welcome Desk / Administrator

My Role

Administrator/Welcome Desk, I am the first point of contact for anyone visiting the University.  I have a wide variety of responsibilities ranging from greeting students and visitors, directing queries and  assisting different departments with administrative duties.

Hannah Gonzalez
Administrative Assistant

My Role

I provide administrative support to the programme co-ordinators and course leaders for the Professional Certificate of Competence in Gibraltar Law, Professional Certificate of Competence in Gibraltar Tax, the School of Sports courses and the up and coming School of Business, as well as the Key Advisory Groups. My responsibilities include interacting with tutors and students and assisting the programme coordinators to ensure that all aspects of the courses run smoothly and that the students have the best overall experience. This means that usually no two days are the same which provides for quite an exciting and busy environment to work in.

Henry Earle
Executive and Special Projects Coordinator

My Role

As Executive and Special Projects Coordinator, my main roles are to provide high level support to the Vice-Chancellor and coordinate the University’s special projects. Given that the University is at its early stages, my latter role is very varied. It ranges from developing the University’s brand guidelines to coordinating international conferences. One further interesting side to the role is being a key contact for visiting dignitaries. It is safe to say that no day is ever the same.

My Role

As Campus and Events Manager, my main role is ensuring that the University campus runs smoothly every day together with the up keeping, security and domestics. On the events side, it is dealing with the events bookings, timetabling of seminar rooms, conference rooms and ensuring the specific requirements of clients are provided for their event.

My Role

My main role here at the university is the face to face contact with the public. As a Administration and Coordination Officer I have a very diverse range of responsibilities, such as overseeing our university merchandise, being part of the conference and events team and answering student enquiries.

My Role

As Registrar I am responsible for student facing registry services of the University and safeguarding the student experience by ensuring control of student records and regulations affecting students. My role also spans across financial matters at the University where I assist the CFOO on financial management and reporting.

I am the first port of call for prospective students. I deal with student enrolment and also look after their academic records.

My Role

My role at the University is that of Administrator and Student Enrolment and Academic Records Officer. I am the first point of contact for prospective students visiting the University and I deal with student enrolment and academic records as well as general administrative duties.

Director of Professional Development & Short Courses

My Role

As the Director of Professional Development and Short Courses, one of the more important areas is to engage with key stakeholders to ensure that we offer courses which are industry relevant qualifications to Gibraltar’s professional community. These could be professional body qualifications, continuous professional development or short courses. Community outreach is also part of my role where the aim is to engage different sectors of the community to learn, enjoy and expand on cultural, health and sports themes. Hosting events such as Awareness Days or our annual Professional Development Open Days allows me to fully engage with potential students (school leavers to over 55’s) and provide a forum to fact find for future courses of interest.

My Role

I am the Head of School for the School of Sport, responsible for the School itself, the staff and students within it and the course provision that it delivers. I also promote Gibraltar internationally, and oversee sport partnerships within Gibraltar and beyond.

My Role

As Chief Financial and Operations Officer I’m responsible for assisting the Vice-Chancellor with all aspects of financial control, internal systems and budgeting, and also have oversight of campus operations. As a result of my financial oversight role I also serve as a member of the Board of Governors.

Rebecca Moon
Programme Coordinator Europa Point Language Centre

My Role

My role as Programme Coordinator for Europa Point Language Centre is to identify the language needs of the local and wider community. In particular, English for Specific Purposes, for example English for Business Purposes, English for Health Professionals and English for Tourism and Hospitality. This also includes our English for Academic Purposes programmes which support the international students here at the university. I am responsible for coordinating the language courses and ensuring that all of our language students have a productive and positive learning experience.

My Role

I am part of the ICT department, dealing with the IT day to day issues staff members or students may have. Making sure all software are running efficiently and effectively to meet the required highest of standards of the University.
