Vice – Chancellor An Official UN Delegate At COP21 Paris Climate Conference

Professor Daniella Tilbury is one of the official UN Delegates attending the Inter-governmental Climate Change Summit known at COP21 and currently being hosted by Paris. The conference has attracted over 185 country delegations to the Conference of the parties to the United Nations Convention on Climate Change. A universal binding agreement on climate change is expected to be announced on the 11th December. Prof Tilbury supported text negotiation process and facilitated an official IUCN, UNESCO and UNFCCC event at the COP on the 10th December (ESD COP21 leaflet). Her role also involved supporting Gibraltar’s Chief Scientist, Dr Liesl Torres in highlighting, to the international community, how Gibraltar can be a leader in the formation and delivery of environmental policy and governance.
