Vice-Chancellor's message

As a young university, our strengths include our energy, our agility and our ability to collaborate. Since opening our doors in 2015, our goal has been to create a first-class higher education institution right here in Gibraltar. In March 2022, we were awarded a global accreditation by the UK’s Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) following an in-depth review of our governance, learning and teaching, and internal quality assurance procedures. Achieving the QAA’s global accreditation supports our vision as ‘an institution of excellence in teaching, learning and research’ and is a university-wide achievement of which we are all very proud.
Our small – yet diverse – portfolio of programmes reflects our ability to respond proactively to societal, economic and environmental issues rapidly, providing our students with skills that make them employable and relevant. Our small class sizes – combined with the expertise of our academic staff – enable us to deliver a student experience that is second to none.
Gibraltar’s vibrant economy and unique location at a cultural, historical and biogeographical crossroads, makes it the perfect place to make connections, gain meaningful industry experience and add a unique point of reference to the student experience. Its rich history, coupled with a dynamic ‘can-do’ community provides a welcoming, safe and open environment in which to learn and live.
An emphasis on partnerships and collaboration are at the heart of our success as an institution. It is through these relationships that we are able to continually develop and grow – directly benefiting our students, the wider region and the partners we work with.

“We are a new type of university. Ambitious and adaptable, we are building an institution that creates opportunity for our students, graduates and those who work with us.”
