In this public lecture Dr Louise Lawson takes us through her doctoral journey where she explored newly qualified nurses’ early experiences of working as unqualified mentors. Dr Louise provides details of how her research was carried out, drawing on an interpretive phenomenological analysis framework to give meaning to her data. Finally, Dr Lawson will go into detail on how she survived the trials and tribulations of being a doctoral student is discussed, with hints and tips on how to overcome the many challenges doctoral students face.
